Description - A tall plant up to 1m high, with slender, stiffly branched stems, bearing small white or pale lilac flowers with three petals. The leaves at the base are oval, and slightly reminiscent of Greater Plantain leaves, thus the name.
Habitat - This plant grows in areas of standing water, such as shallow ponds and ditches, although it can tolerate situations which dry out in the Summer.
Comments - Water Plantain is rather rare and declining as its habitat decreases.
