Description - A grass with a dense pale green flowering spike, which is covered in reddish purple anthers in early June. Plants grow to c. 40cm, with straight stems.
Habitat - Found in meadows which have not had too much cultivation.
Comments - Although a native grass, this probably occurs in many meadows as a result of sowing grass-seed mixtures.
