Description - Purple flower head, petals long and floppy, spines on sepals can be seen in the photos. The plant grows in patches, with small narrow leaves
Habitat - Poor, sandy soils, established sand-dunes
Comments - This plant has come and gone over the last two hundred years. The present plants are found only at one site at Rocquaine, where they have established a stable population. Also known in Alderney, Jersey, and a couple of areas in South Wales
