Description - A tiny, bright blue flower, often buried in the leaves, or later expanding on a stem with several others. The leaves and stems are densely hairy, sometimes with a purplish colouration, especially when the weather is cold. Comes into flower in March.
Habitat - Mainly coastal, in short turf, on sandy, poor soil.
Comments - We always welcome the sight of this flower as one of the first signs of Spring! It is a common, native plant in the British Isles.
