Description - A moss that lives on trees forming small clumps. The leaves curl when it is dry. The calyptra - covering to the young sporophte - is very hairy.
Habitat - On trees, particularly in woods
Comments - Not common in Guernsey but found in the larger woods such as at Fermain, Petit Bot and the Reservoir. The related species, Ulota phyllantha is seldom fertile but has clumps of gemmae on the end of its leaves.
