GUERNSEY

The Island of Guernsey lies off the coast of Normandy, France and 100 miles south of England. It is part of the Channel Islands along with Jersey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. Our language is English although we are nearer to France.  The island is self governing and is independent of the U.K.

The view at the top of the page is of Fort Hommet, build in the time of Napoleon, on the west coast of the island

The south coast of the island has wonderful cliffs throughout it's length. In spring they are covered in wild flowers

The harbour in Guernsey's capital, St Peter Port, must be one of the most attractive in the world
