Background.
I met Betty my wife when I was undergoing training at 20 Operational Training Unit (OTU) based at Lossiemouth in Scotland in 1943. Her maiden name was Conroy and she had acquired the nickname Connie
She was a W.A.A. F. Sergeant employed in the stores and one of her responsibilities was to issue oxygen masks to newly arrived air crew like myself. (Read how we met). From Lossiemouth I was posted to Moreton in Marsh to undergo further training prior to being sent to Italy. We were married there in 1944.
I had joined the Royal Air Force in 1939. Trained and qualified as a wireless operator serving in many RAF bases in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales before remustering to become a pilot. I carried out my pilots training in Oshawa and Camp Borden in Canada. I would be very glad to meet up with anyone of the many friends I made during this time.
Maureen is now a freelance business and foreign language teacher, mainly in the local finance industry. She has a Degree in languages. Is much travelled and also specialises in travel writing. Peter is married to Gill lives in the Cotswolds in England. He also has a Degree. Works in the computer industry as a Sales manager.

I have also written articles. The most interesting is how we mined the River Danube in WW2 and the devastating effect it had on the German war machine in that area.

If any magazines, papers or film /video makers are looking for a new subject, I would of course be pleased to send them a synopsis.

Finally because of its historical nature, no Library, lending or otherwise, should be without a copy of 'Its Dicey Flying Wimpys (Around Italian Skies)' by Maurice G. Lihou. ISBN 1 85821 785 7.
