Sgurr Alisdair

The ascent of Sgurr Alisdair was tacked onto the end of our Mull Sea Kayak Expedition.  On this trip was me, Gareth, Lesley and Steve M.  Later we were to meet up with My wife Sandra and Gareth's wife Tracey to do some walking around Ben Nevis.

Basically the Mull trip went very well so we had a few days before meeting up with the girls so it was decided that we would go to Mull for breakfast at the old school room in Dunvegan.  This may sound slightly weird but we had happy memories of breakfasts here during our Skye trip a few years earlier.

We found a good place to stay in Skye and had a mooch around Breakfast and an excellent evening meal were had at the Old School Room with a bit of paddling around macclouds maidens on the west coast.  On waking up one morning I was suprised to see the top of the Cuilins, despite many trips to Skye I had only seen the tops once before.  A quick conference and we decided to go walking, nipping into ??? we picked up a map and the guide book and headed off to ?????.  The treck up was steep and strenuous but the views over the western Isles more than made up for this.  We gained the ridge at ???? and stopped for lunch, the clouds were starting to lower and we soon lost the view but we carried on anyway.  After a short scramble were were on top and the top being such as it is we took turns each to stand on it.  Had we had better visibility I think we might have been more cautious on the top but what you can't see can't hurt you!
