5 Sewer system has more than 30 pumping stations.
6 The island produces more than four million gallons of waste water every day.
7 The sewer network has been extended by more than 10,500 metres in the past 20yrs
8 To date more than 2,500metres of Victorian sewers have been renovated.

THERE IS 52 WEEKS PER YEAR IN WHICH YOU ALREADY HAVE TWO DAYS OFF PER WEEK, LEAVING 261 DAYS AVAILABLE FOR WORK. SINCE YOU SPEND 16 HOURS EACH DAY AWAY FROM WORK, YOU HAVE USED UP 170 DAYS LEAVING ONLY 91 DAYS AVAILABLE. YOU SPEND 30 MINUTES EACH DAY ON COFFEE BREAKS THAT ACCOUNTS FOR 23 DAYS LEAVING ONLY 68 DAYS AVAILABLE. WITH A HOUR LUNCH PERIOD EACH DAY, USING UP ANOTHER 46 DAYS THAT NOW ONLY 22 DAYS AVAILABLE FOR WORK. YOU NORMALLY SPEND 2 DAYS PER ON SICK LEAVE THIS LEAVES YOU 20 DAYS AVAILABLE FOR WORK. WE ARE OFF 5 HOLIDAYS PER YEAR SO YOU ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 15 DAYS PER YEAR. WE GENEROUSLY GIVE YOU 14 DAYS HOLIDAY PER YEAR WHICH LEAVES YOPU WITH ONLY 1 DAY AVAILABLE FOR WORK, AND I'll BE DAMNED IF YOU ARE HAVING THAT DAY OFF.

Price change

In October 1925 a sewage cart was purchased for the purpose of emptying cesspools, in parts not served by main drainage. The committee's charges
for the use of this machine are 15/- for the first load and 10/- for subsequent
loads.
Now they charge £9.00 per load.

A WORD OF WARNING

Just a word of warning if Prev phones you and askes you to do a job and offers three hours pay then please CHECK WITH KEVIN as you may not get paid for it as a couple of drivers have found out.If you get called out from home then you will get the 3hrs but if you are called out while you are still at work you should get 1hr O/T and the bonus loads so be carefull

When you look around the States yard you can see how much money the States waste, when you look around the Sewage yard you can see all the oil spills not only is it dangerous but to waste oil like that if you wasted oil like that in the UK then some heads would roll..
